I provide forensically sound psychological evaluations to support immigration cases before USCIS, the Asylum Office, and in Removal Defense proceedings. My goal is to assist attorneys in documenting the psychological factors that strengthen their clients’ legal claims, including the impact of trauma, persecution, family separation, or extreme hardship.
Types of Evaluations Provided:
Asylum (fear of persecution and trauma-related claims)
Extreme Hardship Waivers (I-601 / I-601A)
VAWA (Violence Against Women Act)
U Visa (victims of qualifying crimes)
T Visa (survivors of human trafficking)
Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) Status
Each evaluation includes a thorough clinical interview, psychological testing when appropriate, and a comprehensive written report that integrates diagnostic impressions with the legal framework of the case. Reports are written with clarity, neutrality, and an understanding of the evidentiary standards required by immigration courts and agencies.
I collaborate closely with attorneys to ensure that each evaluation addresses the specific legal questions at hand while maintaining clinical independence and adherence to ethical standards.
Prior to entering the mental health field, I worked for over ten years as a legal caseworker, assisting in the representation of unaccompanied minors and asylum seekers in removal proceedings. This background provides me with a unique understanding of both the clinical and legal dimensions of immigration evaluations, ensuring that my reports are useful, credible, and responsive to the needs of counsel.
My approach is trauma-informed, culturally competent, and legally precise, offering attorneys reliable assessments that support their clients’ cases with professionalism and care.
Clients may contact me directly to schedule an immigration evaluation, or attorneys may consult with me prior to referral to discuss case needs.
The evaluation process typically includes:
Initial Consultation – A brief phone or email exchange to clarify the type of case, referral question, and documentation needed.
Clinical Interview – One to two 90-minute sessions conducted in English or Spanish, either in person or via secure telehealth.
Psychological Testing – Administered when clinically indicated to provide objective support for diagnostic impressions.
Written Report – A detailed, forensically informed report prepared within 2–3 weeks of the final interview. Expedited reports are available upon request for an additional fee.
Attorney Collaboration – When appropriate, I maintain communication with counsel to ensure that the evaluation addresses the relevant legal criteria while upholding clinical neutrality.
Fees vary based on case complexity, testing needs, and timeline. A written estimate is provided before the evaluation begins. Payment is typically due at the time of service, and clients receive a signed invoice that may be submitted to their attorney for documentation purposes.
For questions or referrals, attorneys are welcome to contact me directly to discuss specific cases or consultation needs.
